Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities stated on late Wednesday. The athlete was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”

This update on his health follows the boxing community had expressed its support for the champion in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
