Liverpool's Star Offers Statement to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has disclosed that the Egyptian forward said sorry to the group of players following the fallout from his recent interview.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a key Champions League match subsequent to voicing frustrations and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I'm sorry.’”
Arne Slot has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he got an explanation from the 33-year-old forward.
Looking Ahead
He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere stayed normal. “He was his usual self, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,” he continued.
He also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “I understand there are certain ways you can go about things,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
On-Field Response
Liverpool's form have remained strong in the matches since the interview fallout. Jones believes the forward's comments were never meant to cause disruption.
“If passion has boiled over, it’s always been from a desire to win,” Jones concluded. “We’re past that now and we’re gelling well as a team, getting results and securing victories.”
