NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage includes text commentary of Sunday's games via multiple platforms, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage can be heard through select stations for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six in the football calendar , following recent talk regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being a potential Super Bowl match-up, each surrendered their unbeaten records.

Notable in those games were the number of infractions both conceded. Philadelphia did so at crucial times so they essentially defeated themselves having led 17-3 going into the final quarter against the Denver Broncos, who play in London this Sunday.

But it proved positive to observe how Denver quarterback Bo Nix was able to have the shortfall and then lead three successful possessions in three attempts in the fourth quarter, to win the game by four points.

Denver have the top defender with cornerback Pat Surtain II. They rank number one in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia are number one in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos prevailed in that battle.

They executed the Eagles' number in terms of disguised blitzes. They did not necessarily rushing extra pass rushers but they could position two linebackers in the interior before drop them out and dispatch a nickel from the outside.

At the start of the season, it was noted during a show that Denver might emerge as the current year's dark horses. They ended the previous year strongly and did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's underdog story?

Recently acquired TE their tight end has stepped up significantly and recent running back their rusher is a player they believe in. He's currently fifth in the NFL in ground gains (over 400) and tied for fourth in rushing scores (four).

I love that head coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUN IT!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates that the Broncos are a team aiming to prioritize the run, because you can do a lot off the back of that. It reduces down the pass rush and keeps you in favourable down and distances.

This has helped quarterback Bo Nix, who entered into the league as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, passing for 29 TDs – second only to Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert have powerful arms to throw anywhere, however they lack the mobility that Nix has. He has exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, plus he's so athletic.

His strengths are his mobility, the capacity to pass on the run, as well as using varied release points to make the pass when he rolls out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He is able to throw precision throws across the middle or past defenders.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he's got great poise under pressure and is not bothered by the blitz. He aims to evade being tackled whenever possible and can pass under pressure. He has a high football IQ and remains very decisive.

When you consistently run the ball it consumes time and forces the defence to stay in play for longer, and when you have an athletic quarterback the defense must cover the area downfield side to side. This proves draining.

Nix has pushed back at Payton on the sideline sometimes and I think Payton appreciates that attitude, that he's such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for him to have a rookie QB that is kind of like play-dough. The coach can truly develop him how he wants to build it. I think it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

Payton owns a Super Bowl and now passed a legend for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He's seen it all. In my opinion the achievements the Broncos are having on offence is largely due to his guidance, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the pairing with Nix aids make him what he is.

There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to help you through difficult moments and build self-belief.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But are they good enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Since that was not a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Currently, it's unlikely the Broncos are incredible. They're performing better than most, that's a good place to be in their division. All they need to do is maintain this path.

They're really good at embracing their forte, which is the ground game, and that's exactly what they must do against the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

The Jets have surrendered 140 rushing yards each contest (sixth worst), five ground scores this season (in the bottom ten), and they're the sole squad yet to win any game.

Since the NFL began tracking turnovers decades ago, this team are also the inaugural squad to be without any turnovers in five outings, this is surprising considering that the head coach was previously defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB says Kansas City are off to a poor start after Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos have a manageable slate up to their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans and the Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

In their division, Kansas City hold a losing record and the Broncos are even with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could make a run at leading the West.

This hinges upon which form Kansas City shows up they meet because the Broncos {beat|def
