Football Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the global hiatus, however can the English top division frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus AI, fans and a variety of guests.

For the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

The singer's latest record, the new release, is out on Friday.

Football and Parenting Life

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I won't force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their weekend soccer team," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be fairly close, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' only away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's coach.

So, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham extending their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their last four matches.

My son told me to select Brentford forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great success on the road this term, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. Brentford will try to attack on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six matches.

They have have plenty of talent in their team but it still feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are obviously able of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the end of October.

But I am not going to do that. Rather, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's home record, the only side they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have still been decent at home this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
